About Brno

Officially called the Masaryk Ring, the Brno circuit in the South East of the Czech Republic is more commonly referred to by the name of the nearby city.  It was built in 1987 to replace an increasingly obsolete street circuit which had been a popular motorsport venue since the 1930s.  The track is spectacular, undulating through expansive corners, with a good mix of left and right handers.  It's technically challenging and requires a flowing riding style, with few hard braking manoeuvres and is a favourite of many of the MotoGP riders who race there. It was designed with safety as a primary concern and has large run off areas and is wide, at 15m.

Off track, Brno has a reputation for being incredibly well run, with superb facilities.  The garages are huge and there is an on site restaurant, although the Czech food might not be to everyone's taste!
