This is a very pleasant hotel set in the heart of London. (02/08 RPL) The hotel is situated just five minutes walk from Marble Arch underground station and two minutes from Oxford Street, perfect for both shopping and sightseeing. The rooms are medium in size and in very good condition, decorated in elegant, neutral colours and traditionally furnished. All the rooms were totally refurbished recently, and the grey marble bathrooms are also in very good condition. The hotel does have eight rooms on the lower ground floor which are much larger than the standard rooms and have been similarly refurbished. Originally built as a private residence for Lady Black, lady-in-waiting to the court of George II. This is a unique period hotel with an attractive red brick facade. The Modern Indian restaurant is located on the ground floor and is very fashionable and trendy. It serves the very best contemporary Indian Cuisine. The medium lobby is traditional in decor with a marble floor.
